Latest Happenings

Let's see...On Thursday, I went to see the musical Thoroughly Modern Millie with an ACR friend of mine. TMM takes place in Manhattan in the early 20's. Maybe not as good as the 1967 version with Julie Andrews, Mary Tyler Moore, and Carol Channing, but still a fun evening. In true Katie fashion, after the intermission we found some empty seats that were closer to the stage, and it was much more enjoyable after that. :-)

On Saturday, I forgot to make a meal for a couple in my small group who recently had a baby (oops)--but went to Augusta to do a home visit with Gavin instead. :-0 We dropped off Gavin at the adopter's house so she could watch him while we went to lunch with Xon's mom. We thought he would adjust better to a new home if we let him see it once before he stayed there permanently. (He's a weird one!) When we took him back on Sunday, he went straight to the toy box and made himself right at home. So now she will get two weeks to decide for sure about adopting him. I just hope he will eat for her! We also had dinner with Xon's mom and Bubba on Sunday evening.

While we were in Augusta on Saturday, we stopped by a store called Eclectics of the South. Several vendors have various booths in the store, so there is a wide variety of merchandise. Antiques, baby items, paintings, rugs, etc., etc., etc. A nice, leisurely way to spend one's Saturday afternoon!

And now it is finals week here at UGA, so I have been collecting student papers all day. I'm sooooo glad I don't have to write any papers myself. Just blog entries. :-)
