Thank You, Big Lots!
I love to drink grape Propel. For a while, Wal-Mart was the only place that carried Propel at all, let alone the grape flavor. There you can get Propel in the 2- or 4-servings bottles. I have yet to see any other store carry Propel in the larger bottle.
Well, I always buy the larger bottles because those are cheaper. 4 servings for .99. Usually the shelves are completely empty when it is at this price. But Wal-Mart likes to play games with us. They saw the the bottles were flying off the shelves at .99, so they changed the price to $1.24. I stopped buying, and apparently so did other people, because the shelves are always completely full at this price. Wal-Mart must have noticed, because they lowered the price to .99. Again, the bottles were flying off the shelves. So they changed the price AGAIN to $1.24. And I stopped buying AGAIN.
This little game frustrates me. I get mad at Xon because he says they are doing what they're supposed to be doing with supply and demand. But I just wonder when the game will stop. How many times do we have to buy then not buy then buy again? Why don't they leave it at .99 or just go somewhere in the middle so I can have my beloved Propel???
So.....Xon and I were at Big Lots last night, and he noticed that they had Propel for .98 for 4 servings. .01 CHEAPER than Wal-Mart's original price! So I rewarded them by buying 96 servings. :-)

In my defense, I only said that Wal-Mart was 'doing what they should be doing' when they first raised the price. I didn't know at that point that they were not being bought at that new higher price. It was obvious that they were 'flying off the shelves' at .99. So clearly it made sense to raise the price a bit. But apparently .25 was too much of a raise. So, this is clearly an area where Wal-Mart is not watching their inventory closely enough.
I LOVE GRAPE PROPEL! YUM!
