No one seems to be blogging as of late. Except sis with her beautiful Baby Alex pics! --A few things have happened in the past month or so. My dad came to visit and brought back my beloved Sentra--in better condition than I left it with him. :-)
We bought a newish car. A 2005 Toyota Matrix which, as sis says, will mostly be garaged until the Sentra "goes to sleep." The Sentra is 8 years old, so we are trying to be kind to it in its old age.
It was interesting to me that I wasn't nervous at all about buying a house. I suppose because one has to have
somewhere to live, and we got such a good deal on our house that our mortgage payment is about the same as our rental payment. But Xon and I haven't ever had a car payment before, so that made me very nervous. We chickened out on buying a truck because I couldn't stomach the monthly payment and the amount of gas money it would take. But the Matrix was a good deal, and I finally realized that if we aren't lovin' the monthly payment, we can always sell it! Duh! Took me long enough to realize that. :-)
Last week, someone at work gave me two tickets to a concert at UGA, so that was a fun date night. It was with the
Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir. Their repertoire ranges from Gregorian chants to late baroque and 20th century music. --I was in several choral groups in college, so it was not very often that I could go to a concert as a spectator. It is wonderful to hear all the voices blending together--and to see confident men singers who don't hesitate at entrances, etc. Beauteous!
Gavin went on his trial period with his potential adopter. He is not eating so far, so I am worried about him.
Think that's it for now! Can't wait to see my sis in a month!
