Kids and Dogs

If you had two young kids and you adopted a dog and then returned it a couple of months later, how would you break the news to your kids that the dog was leaving?

Ah, Georgia...

...where it's 80 degrees at the beginning of March.

Gavey and I sat in the backyard all weekend in the sun and read Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil.

Randomness

No one seems to be blogging as of late. Except sis with her beautiful Baby Alex pics! --A few things have happened in the past month or so. My dad came to visit and brought back my beloved Sentra--in better condition than I left it with him. :-)

We bought a newish car. A 2005 Toyota Matrix which, as sis says, will mostly be garaged until the Sentra "goes to sleep." The Sentra is 8 years old, so we are trying to be kind to it in its old age.

It was interesting to me that I wasn't nervous at all about buying a house. I suppose because one has to have somewhere to live, and we got such a good deal on our house that our mortgage payment is about the same as our rental payment. But Xon and I haven't ever had a car payment before, so that made me very nervous. We chickened out on buying a truck because I couldn't stomach the monthly payment and the amount of gas money it would take. But the Matrix was a good deal, and I finally realized that if we aren't lovin' the monthly payment, we can always sell it! Duh! Took me long enough to realize that. :-)

Last week, someone at work gave me two tickets to a concert at UGA, so that was a fun date night. It was with the Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir. Their repertoire ranges from Gregorian chants to late baroque and 20th century music. --I was in several choral groups in college, so it was not very often that I could go to a concert as a spectator. It is wonderful to hear all the voices blending together--and to see confident men singers who don't hesitate at entrances, etc. Beauteous!

Gavin went on his trial period with his potential adopter. He is not eating so far, so I am worried about him.

Think that's it for now! Can't wait to see my sis in a month!
